Will Defence Ministry suggest cuts for ‘Naa Peru Surya....’?
Just two months ago, the makers of Hindi film 'Aiyaarey' went through some sleepless nights since their film was certified only after getting a clearance from the Union Ministry of Defence, since it was a film on army officials.
Similarly, hotshot Allu Arjun, who his celebrating his birthday on Sunday, will have to go through the same experience because he plays a valiant army man and the story revolves around politics in the army camp.
"Not all films made on the Army require clearance from the Ministry of Defence, but if the Censor Board officials feel that the facts are twisted or altered, they could ask the filmmakers to approach the Defence Ministry for suggestions, if any," says a source, close to the unit.
"Actually, our film raises the bar on army personnel and their patriotic spirit and valour and it is a positive film on the Indian army. Also, you can't compare two films on the same scale.
Hence, we are hopeful of passing through the censors without any cuts" he adds. Actually, Allu Arjun is donning army uniform for the first time in his career and already the first look and teaser have created ripples in the film industry. "Allu Arjun's performance will be the USP of the film" he concludes.
