Anchor-turned-actress Anasuya is back in the spotlight with her realistic performance in 'Rangasthalam' and her phone hasn't stopped ringing ever since. "Earlier, I failed to understand why people used to say that it was a once-in-a-lifetime role, but now I realised what they meant after playing `Rangammattha' and I am flooded with appreciation calls and laudatory messages.

Initially, I was uncomfortable wearing a saree and blouse for the role since I am accustomed to modern attires, but it was Sukumar's vision,” said the actress, while speaking to the media. Sharing her views on the frequent rape incidents rocking the country, she adds, "It is a heinous crime and it happens only due to the male-chauvinistic mindset and not due to a girl's way of dressing.

Then why is it that even a three-month-old or burga-clad women get raped, so the argument doesn't carry any weight."  Coming to her career, "I missed acting in films like 'Leader' and 'Arya 2', but now, I wouldn't got this pivotal role in 'Rangasthalam', if I had acted in those movies, perhaps that's destiny," she points out.

Talking about her fitness regimen, she discloses "I am a foodie and eat what I like. However, I hit the gym and work out hard to burn the calories every day and follow a strict fitness regiment. I drink three cups of green tea and two cups of coffee to keep myself fit and trim," she concludes.
