Splits In Telugu Film Industry, RGV Playing Kattappa Role?

Update: 2018-04-20 18:12 IST

The glorious past of the Telugu films and people associated with it carried huge respect among masses.  Telugu theatre and film personalities were given highest regard in the country for their talent and hard work and innovation abilities.

We are pioneers in talkie films and many of our directors, technicians, lyricists, writers have international recognition and following right from good olden days. The first cinema studio in south India was built by Nidamarthi surayya way back in 1936 in Rajahmundry.  We made our debut in silent films in 1912 and the first film Bhishma Pratigna was produced in 1921 by Raghupathi venkayya naidu.

Telugu film industry is renowned for its discipline, punctuality and respect for several decades.  Many starts and stalwarts are associated with the industry with dedication and respect to Kalamatalli( Mother of art).

The splits in the industry visible after NTR and ANR legacy came to an end.  The closed door matters of the industry started seeing light. Many witnessed the rivalry between Manchu family and Mega family in Vajrotsavam function of Telugu film industry. Entire industry split among 4 families and their relatives and supporters.

Small time heros and heroines , character artists started taking sides among these families for their survival.  Slowly theaters in both Andhra and Telangana states were also gone to these famlies is a open secret.

When it comes to falling moral values and casting couch its like any other area of work and since it is fashion, body and emotion oriented business it is a bit more in film industry.  Nothing great or new even in telugu film industry it is visible every where in Bollywood, kollywood and tollywood.

Sri reddy's rebel attitude took the matter to a higher degree of image spoiling.   Ram gopal Varma added fuel to the fire by  instigating Sri reddy to make nonsense comments and vulgar words against mega family to score points on mega family.

Movie artists association also miserably failed to show leadership and maturity over deciding issues between directors and producers, theatre owners and distributors and also issues among artists on many occasions.  They earned a reputation that they are mere puppets in the hands of four big families.

This is clearly visible very recently in the declaration of Sri reddy's expulsion and issuing fatwa of suspending other artists in case they co act with Sri reddy which of course they withdrawn later with the intervention of human rights commission.

Its better late than never to wake up and resolve the issues amicably by forming committees on issues with respect to each department of 24 arts involved in movie making and come clean to restore respect in the public eye.  There is no point in filing cases in police station and courts to settle scores.
