Prabhas’ romantic saga set in 1930s?

Update: 2018-04-21 12:17 IST

It seems to be the season of period sagas in T-town. For the first time in his career, reigning star Prabhas will be doing a period movie set in 1930’s (barring fantasy film ‘Bahubali). It will be the first-of-its-kind romantic saga and Prabhas will be seen in a new avatar in the big ticket entertainer being directed by Radhakrishna(RK) who made ‘Jill’.

“A team from Bollywood and Hollywood technicians are sketching the set pieces, props and recreating villages of that time, besides doing research on the people’s culture during the pre-Independence era to deliver an authentic period saga. It will made in Telugu and Hindi languages, so they are looking for a setting that appeals to pan-India,” says a source, in the industry.

No doubt, the massive success of Ram Charan’s ‘Rangasthalam’ would have given a fillip to Prabhas and his team since a visually-captivating period saga has received overwhelming response for its making values and periodic look.  “Prabhas’ film was planned much before it and script work was almost done, so no comparisons. Prabhas will woo Pooja in a long-gone era and shooting to begin by mid-2018,” the source concludes.
