Channel ban takes its toll on ‘Naa Peru Surya’

The ongoing tussle between the Mega family and three TV channels seems to have taken its toll on Allu Arjun's  much-awaited film 'Naa Peru Surya' which is slated for release in May. "After the face-off, these news channels are reluctantly allotting time for star interviews, promotional activities and are not ready to air advertisements of the film as well" says a source, close to the unit.

A week ago, Allu Arjun had targeted these news channels for maligning the image of their family by repeatedly telecasting the abusive and foul comments made by Sri Reddy against Pawan Kalyan at the audio release function of his film. In retaliation, the news channels are reluctant to promote his army-centric patriotic film. "If the stalemate continues, we have to promote the film in various social media and other platforms," he adds.

Actually, the film of a big star like Allu Arjun can draw openings on the strength of his name without support of news channels. Nonetheless, the war between superstars and news channels has begun, which is bound to decide, whether big stars can deliver a hit without promoting their films in news channels. That would be interesting to watch out for.
