Tamannaah in an action role?
After playing a fiery tribal girl in ‘Bahubali’, glam diva Tamannaah will be essaying a full-fledged action role to re-define her glam girl image. Being produced by an NRI, the actress has given her nod to play an author-backed role to be shot entirely in picturesque Malaysia. “It will be a slam bang action film and shot in various virgin locales in Malaysia. It will be produced by a young team.
It is the first anger-driven role for the actress and she is prepping for it by hiring a trainer to tone her body to enable her for kick-butt action sequences,” says a source, close to the actress. It seems that the ‘Rebel’ actress is looking to change her goody-goody cute girl image with an action-centric film to showcase her acting range.
“She always wanted to do different kinds of roles but she is getting author-backed roles only now, so she is choosing the best among the bunch of offers,” the source adds. Actually, Tammanah who played a glam prop in some big ticket films like ‘Nayak’ and ‘Sketch’, took up her maiden female-centric film ‘Queen’, Telugu remake of Hindi blockbuster to give a new direction to her career.
“Tammanah is excited to reprise the role of national-award winning actress Kangana Ranaut, but the film got stuck due to some creative differences. Now, the much-awaited remake will be helmed by Prashanth Varma of ‘Awe’ fame. It will be a start-to-finish project and Tammanah is raring to go,” the source concludes.
