Ban on Rajinikanth's Kaala

Update: 2018-05-30 18:48 IST

As everyone is super excited about the release of Super Star Rajinikanth's next film Kaala, the Kannadigas are trying to implement a ban on the movie for some obvious reasons. The regional Kannada groups and the distributors from Karnataka have voluntarily decided to stall the film’s release in the state. They are stating that Rajinikanth’s comments on Cauvery water issue hurt their statements and hence they are not ready to encourage the actor's movie in the state.

Very recently, Super Star made statements on the issue asking the new CM of Karnataka to abide by the decision given by the Supreme Court to release the water for the Tamilnadu state. As a result, the distributors and exhibitors of Karnataka film association have met to discuss the issue and a final decision on the film's release will be out by Thursday.

Directed by Ranjith Pa, the film will release on 7th July worldwide. Rajinikanth is playing a slumlord of Mumbai who fights for the rights of downtrodden. Eeshwari Rao, Nana Patekar, Samuthrakhani, Huma Qureshi and others are a part of the film.
