Keerthy looking for author-backed roles?

Talented actress Keerthy Suresh, who wowed critics and the audience alike with an author-backed role in ‘Mahanati,’ is reportedly looking for similar kind of meaty roles. “She has thumbed down a couple of routine offers and is looking forward for well-defined roles. 

Right now, she is busy doing Tamil films like ‘Saamy 2’ and ‘Sandaikozhi 2’,” says an industry source. No doubt, she would have been flooded with several offers after her maiden female-centric film rocked the box office, but the Malayalam diva is not in a hurry to sign films left, right and centre in T-town. “Anyone else in her place would have signed big offers and fattened their bank balances, but she is holding her horses and waiting for the right kind of role and script, that would justify her newly-found larger-than-life image post ‘Mahanati’,” the source adds. 

Actually, Keerthy began her career in T-town by playing a lover girl to hotshot Ram in ‘Nenu Sailaja’ and followed it up with another homely role in ‘Nenu Local’, before the Savitri biopic landed on her lap. We have to wait and see whether she will join the league of Anushka and Nayantara, who are hailed as torch-bearers of women-centric movies, or else, balance her career by doing both strong female lead as well as female-oriented movies that could extend her career for some more years.
