‘U Turn’ bags a fancy price
Usually, Hindi film distributors dig deep into their pockets for star-studded Telugu action films, but they surprised by procuring the Hindi dubbing rights of a thriller ‘U Turn’ for Rs 2.10 crore, which even surpassed Nani’s movies. “It is good price for a suspense thriller, because Hindi distributors pay just Rs 1 to 1.5 crore for love stories and family entertainers, but this is an exception of sorts,” says an industry source.
With back-to-back hits like ‘Rangasthalam’ and ‘Mahanati’, Samantha is riding high these days. Apart from commercial films, she has signed an interesting film ‘U Turn’ wherein she plays the role of an investigative journalist.
The shooting for the murder mystery is going on well and key scenes were shot in a police station set recently. The other lead actors of the film like Aadhi Pinisetty, Rahul Ravindran and others are taking part in the shoot. Pawan Kumar is directing the Telugu remake of Kannada blockbuster. Srinivas Chitturi is producing the movie under Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner. Samantha is surely on a roll by doing varied genres.
