Nag Ashwin heaps praise on Samantha

New-age director Nag Ashwin, who is basking in the glory of his recent blockbuster ‘Mahanati, ’which crossed the 50-day-mark, interestingly, praised Samantha’s performance. Nag Ashwin said, “Samantha wasn't competing with Keerthy...she was fighting for screen time with the legend of Savitri garu...and she pulled it off like no other actress of our time could.  

She was the first one to come onboard, just out of pure love for cinema and Savitri garu...this is on the first day of the shoot, on the bus, where she had to do a full page monologue with a stutter. ‘Mahanati’ is what it is because of Madhuravani. Now, the film has completed 50 days of run in the theatres. According to its makers, the film breached into the Rs 40 crore club.
