Ravi Teja puts ‘Theri’ remake on hold?

Seasoned star Ravi Teja showed a lot of interest in remaking the Tamil blockbuster ‘Theri’, starring Vijay in Telugu since it was one of the top grossers in the annals of Tamil cinema. The ‘Kick’ star teamed up with director Santhosh Srinivas who made hits like ‘Kandireega’ for this cop story.

They even shot for a couple of days, but Ravi Teja reportedly put the film on hold, probably to re-work on the script or doesn’t’ want to do a cop story at this point of time of his career. Particularly, after a disaster like ‘Nela Ticket’, the actor wants to return to the audience with his comic-caper ‘Amar Akbar Antony’ since his combination with Srinu Vaitla had resulted in blockbusters like ‘Venky’ and ‘Dubai Seenu’.

“Actually, Ravi Teja wanted to wrap up the ‘Theri’ remake and began shooting. But he has given a break and focusing more on ‘Amar Akbar Anthony,’’ says a source, from the industry. Even though Ravi Teja tasted big success with cop stories earlier like ‘Vikramarkudu’ and ‘Power,’ he now wants to defer it, albeit, for a couple of months.
