‘Pantham’ with the tag line ‘For a Cause’ with Gopichand and Mehreen Pirzada as the lead pair is all set to hit the screens on Thursday. It is produced by K K Radhamohan under the banner of Sri Satya Sai Arts and helmed by K Chakravarthi. Speaking at the pre-release function at Hyderabad on Tuesday,  Gopichand said that an important social issue was highlighted in the film.

He said they wanted to project a social problem through cinema, which was a powerful medium, though it might not make the same level of impact as that of his father T Krishna’s films three decades ago. Till now, such a powerful story has not come to him and he plays a powerful role, he added. Gopichand said that he agreed to do the role only after hearing the story narrated by director Chakravarthi and then, he realised that it was his 25th film, though he was not bothered about the numbers. Every movie was like a first movie, he added. He said that irrespective of the success or failures, every film makes him tense.

Speaking about director Chakravarthi, Gopichand said that when the director narrated the storyline, he told him that the narration was very good and asked him whether he would make the film in such a brilliant way. To this Chakravarthi said that he cannot say unless he was given an opportunity. In the end, the director did a splendid job taking Prasad Murella’s inputs, Gopichand added.

Gopichand said that producer Radhamohan was a perfect gentlemen and transparent in his dealings. He told him to start the film only if he liked the  story and he was now happy over the outcome. opichand said that he would be doing his next film with producer Bogavalli Prasad and directed by Kumar.
