Reunited cast of 'Zombieland' to star in the sequel
Washington DC, [USA]: The reunited cast of post-apocalyptic horror comedy 'Zombieland' will commence shooting for the sequel 'Zombieland 2'.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures has reunited the cast of its 2009 'Zombie'.
It is after almost 10 years, the sequel to Zombieland is ready to open its doors again.
The sequel will see ' Amazing Spiderman' star Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, 'The social network' star Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin reprise their roles in the sequel.
Zombieland is a horror comedy road movie, which revolves around four strangers that meet and bond amid a post-apocalyptic zombie outbreak.
Eisenberg plays the geeky survivor, Columbus, while Harrelson is the violent Tallahassee, and Stone and Breslin play the role of sisters Wichita and Little Rock.
Ruben Fleischer will direct the movie while original 'Zombieland' writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese has penned the script for the sequel.
The film is set to begin production in January and will be released in October 2019, in time for the 10th anniversary of the original movie.
The original movie which was made under 24 million dollars earned 75 million dollars domestically and raked in a decent 102.3 dollars million in the world market.
The new movie will focus on comic mayhem, taking the quartet from the White House to the American heartland as they face off against new zombies, who have evolved since the first film, and also new human survivors are an interesting addition to the storyline of this film.
Stone will be seen in the upcoming movie, 'The Favourite', while Harrelson, who starred in the hit 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' is getting ready to shoot a naval war movie, 'Midway'.
On the other hand, Eisenberg of 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' fame recently starred in the comedic drama 'Freak Show'.
