Balayya puts `80 cr offer on hold?
With expectations and buzz soaring high for ‘N.T.R’, seasoned star Balakrishna, who is playing the title role and also producing the much-awaited movie, is getting umpteen offers. Top Hindi channel Sony Pictures has reportedly offered a whopping Rs 80 crore worth deal to take over the film but the Nandamuri star is reluctant to give it up since he wants to make the prestigious film on his own.
“Sony Pictures has offered Rs 80 crore for the Telugu, Hindi and Tamil rights but Balakrishna has kept it on hold. The top-rated Hindi channel believes that apart from Balakrishna, the casting of B-town star Vidya Balan and with Telugu-Hindi filmmaker Krish helming the biopic, the project has attained pan-India appeal. Besides, with popular actors Prakash Raj and others playing key roles, they believe that it will rock the box office across the world,” says a source, close to the unit.
Even though it is the highest offer ever made for a Balakrishna’s film, yet, the son of legendary actor-turned-politician is holding his horses and likes to fund the film on his own without compromising on the quality and casting. “He is determined to bankroll the most-awaited film and for now, he has no plans to hand it over to others,” the source concludes.
