Samantha to play a 70-year-old?
Glam diva Samantha seems to be in a mood to experiment these days. After playing a ghost in ‘Raju Gari Gadi 2’ and a journo in ‘Mahanati’, the wife of Naga Chaitanya is all set to essay the role of a 70-year-old lady in her upcoming big ticket film with lady director Nandini Reddy.
According to a source in the film industry, the plot is reportedly inspired by the Korean film ‘Miss Granny’ which is the story of an elderly woman( Na Moon Hee) who regains her youthful appearance after visiting a mysterious photo studio. Apart from changing her name, she sets on a quest for happiness. “It is true that Samantha and Nandini Reddy are discussing to make a film, but they haven’t finalised the script,” says a source, close to the unit.
However, an industry source claims that Samantha was bowled over by the idea of an old lady finding herself in the body of a 20-year-old an “exciting and path-breaking plot. No doubt, the ‘Dookudu’ actress is breaking new ground after marriage and picking challenging roles than just glam-centric roles, which she did during the peak of her career. She is doing the murder mystery ‘U Turn’ wherein she plays an investigative journalist. She wanted her first film with a female director as a trendsetting movie and felt that rehash of ‘Miss Granny’ could be one good option.
