‘Sudigadu 2’ on the cards: Bhimaneni

With ‘Tamil Padam 2’ rocking the box office in Tamil Nadu and garnering more than Rs 30 crore and still counting, popular Telugu producer-director Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao has plans to do its remake but yet to take a call on it. “I know that ‘Tamil Padam 2’ has been a sensational hit and garnered more than Rs 30 crore despite being made on a moderate budget,” says Bhimaneni, who remade ‘Tamil Padam’ as ‘Sudigadu’ and minted pots of money a few years ago.

“It was one of the biggest hits and the audience enjoyed every spoof on star-centric commercial movies. A filmmaker, cracking jokes on oneself, always works wonders, provided it doesn’t cross the limits and gets too personal against big stars,” he points out.

Actually, ‘Sudigadu’ was one of the biggest hits in the career of Allari Naresh as it made more than Rs 18 crore. “I will take a call on ‘Tamil Padam 2’ very soon because it has enough potential to strike gold at the box office even in Telugu,” he adds. Meanwhile, Bhimaneni is pinning hopes on his upcoming film ‘Silly Fellows’ starring Allari Naresh and Sunil in the lead. “It will be a laugh riot and both the actors are at their best,” he concludes.
