I got right actors for my script, says Mani ratnam
The pre-release function of ‘Nawab’, which was dubbed into Telugu from the Tamil film movie ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam,’ was held in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Helmed by ace director Mani Ratnam, ‘Nawab’ is being released by Vallabhaneni Ashok and presented by Lyca Productions under the banner of Madras Talkies. The big budget multi-starrer film is being released worldwide on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mani Ratnam said that the entire film unit worked very hard and put in an excellent team effort. Thanking A R Rahman for agreeing to compose music for the film, he said that Sirivennala Sitarama Shastri and Raakhi penned very good lyrics. He said that he was extremely lucky to get an excellent starcast for his multi-star entertainer. They gave full cooperation to him, he added.
In his speech, A R Rahman said that Telugu was a sweet and flowery language and the more he hears it, he feels like listening to it again. He said that he completely forgets about time and gets involved in work when he is working with his guru Mani Ratnam. I composed the music for this film while I was on a trip to the USA with the help of equipment available there, he added. He said that though Mani Ratnam offered to send some assistants from here, he refused and did it alone. I did not want to take any chances while composing the songs, he added. Aravind Swamy, Prakash Raj, Arun Vijay, Simbu, Aishwarya and others will be seen in important roles.
