AC Nani mulls a Tamil remake?

Update: 2018-10-20 05:30 IST

If everything falls into place, reigning star Nani will be doing the remake of the Tamil film ‘96’ to revive his winning streak. After duds like ‘Krishnarjuna Yuddham’, talented actor Nani is looking to do a different kind of movie to enthrall his fans and viewers. “Nani liked the plotline and is thinking of doing it in Telugu, if he finds the right director and producer,” says a source from Chennai.

The ‘MCA’ star will be reprising the role of Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi in his heart-wrenching love story. Briefly, the Tamil film ‘96’ is the tale of a middle-aged man Vijay Sethupathi, a free-spirited travel photographer, who, upon visiting his childhood town of Thanjavur and his old school, gets nostalgic and puts forth an idea to conduct a reunion for their classmates, the class of '96’. Two months later, at the reunion, along with his old friends, Vijay’s school mate Trisha Krishnan also turns up, creating moments of awkwardness and unresolved tension between the duo.

“It will be a different and challenging role for Nani who is known for his excellent acting skills,” the source concludes. Earlier, Nani tasted big success with the Tamil remake ‘Bheemli Kabbadi Jattu’ in 2010, so the ‘Ninnu Kori’ star is not new to Tamil remakes altogether. Let’s wait and see.
