Ileana’s comeback bid goes kaput?

Pretty actress Ileana D’cruz, who returned to T-town after a gap with ‘Amar Akbar Antony’ opposite Ravi Teja hasn’t been getting offers from T-town. Even though she has been in Hyderabad for two or three months, the Goan beauty hasn’t signed any new Telugu film. “Ileana’s branding has taken a beating and big Telugu stars are reluctant to share screen space with her.  She should be tad disappointed with the lukewarm response to her comeback,” says an industry source. 

Frankly, just a few years ago, Ileana was ruling the roost in T-town with a slew of blockbusters like ‘Pokiri’, ‘Jalsa’, ‘Kick’ and and ‘Julayi’ but she moved over to Bollywood with ‘Barfi’ to expand her pan-India appeal. “She is losing out to younger starlets from B-town like Pooja Hegde and Kiara Advani. Ileana was considered for ‘Maharshi’ opposite Mahesh Babu, but the makers dropped the plan,” the source adds. 

Actually, Ileana retained her brand value by doing films ‘selectively’ in Tollywood and was looking to share screen space with reigning stars in her second innings too. However, producer Giridhar, who is close to the actress, dismissed these rumours. “Ileana has been getting plum offers from T-town but she is still waiting for the right kind of role. So, her brand and popularity are still intact,” he reasons. We have to see whether the ‘Rakhi’ actress will have fruitful second innings or not.
