Nara Rohith shelves dumb role?

Probably with his last few films, including ‘Balakrishnudu’, ‘Aatagallu’ and ‘Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayulu’, failing to impress the audience, Nara Rohith has reportedly shelved his 18th film since he doesn’t want to take any chances with a challenging role of a dumb person at this stage of his career. “Initially, he liked the role of playing a speech-impaired youngster, but he wasn’t satisfied with the final outcome of the script. 

He felt that it was more like an art movie than a commercial entertainer and dropped the movie,” says an industry source. Some time ago, everybody hailed his decision about essaying a dumb role when it was first announced because it was for the first time that a mainstream Telugu hero was attempting it on screen. Despite hotshot Ram Charan winning an overwhelming response for his performance as a deaf rural youth in ‘Rangasthalam,’ Nara Rohith is in no mood to play the role of a mute guy throughout the film. 

In fact, Rohith is noted for his distinguished voice and dialogue delivery, which earned him respect in the industry. The film was supposed to be directed by PB Manjunath of ‘Ladies & Gentleman’ fame. Nonetheless, Nara Rohith has to deliver a blockbuster since he is going through a lean patch and wants to do a regular action movie to revive his sagging fortunes.
