Allu Arjun, Trisha to team up?

Update: 2018-11-17 05:30 IST

Reigning star Allu Arjun would be sharing screen space with pretty damsel Trisha in the Telugu remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘96’ to be produced by Dil Raju. “Allu Arjun wanted to do this film because he liked the matured role played by talented actor Vijay Sethupathi very much and he is expected to join shooting from January,” says a source, close to the unit. Interestingly, the ‘Sarrainodu’ star will be teaming up with glam diva Trisha (who played the same role in the original) for the first time in his career.

“Trisha has done a fabulous job in the original and the producer wanted to repeat her in the remake as well since she is quite popular among the Telugu audience” the source adds. The story of a re-union of old school mates was well-received by the Tamil audience and Allu Arjun would be doing a ‘performance-oriented’ role without the usual song and dance sequences. “It’s a kind of challenging role for Bunny and he is looking forward to work with director Prem Kumar, who helmed the Tamil version,” the source concludes.

After doing action-centric movies like ‘DJ’ and ‘Sarrainodu’, Bunny would be donning the boy-next-door role, who is soft and an introvert in this much awaited love saga. He will also be prepping to do a big-ticket film with star director Trivikram Srinivas. Surely, the ‘Naa Peru Surya’ star is balancing his career with varied roles.
