Jr NTR, Atlee movie very much on?

Dismissing some reports in the media that superstar Jr NTR’s film with Tamil director Atlee has been shelved, a source close to the young director in Chennai, claims that the film is very much on. The director who made action films like ‘Mersal’ and ‘Theri’ is readying a script to suit the larger-than-life image of the scion of Nandamuri family. “Atlee met Jr NTR a couple of times and shared a few ideas and finally working on an interesting theme. He wants to arrive in T-town debut with a bang,” says a source, close to the director. 

“From the beginning, Atlee’s film was supposed to start after Rajamouli’s magnum opus in mid-2019, so reports about the big-ticket film being shelved are false and baseless,” the source adds. In fact, unwilling to take a break, Atlee, who commenced shooting for his next big-budget extravaganza with his favourite star Vijay and the actor-director is on the verge of a hat-trick, the source points out. 

On the other hand, Jr NTR is keen to work with a Tamil director for the first time in his illustrious career, as he mostly worked with top-notch Telugu directors like S S Rajamouli, Puri Jagannath, Gunasekhar, B Gopal and V V Vinayak earlier to attain superstardom. The much-awaited film will be bankrolled by veteran producer C Ashwini Dutt under the prestigious Vyjayanthi Movies banner.
