Shriya Saran in an epic role
Glam diva Shriya Saran will be reportedly essaying the role of ‘Savagami’ in the prequel of ‘Baahubali’. The web series is being directed by Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru. It is learnt that Shriya Saran was chosen for the role after her performance in the historical ‘Gautamiputra Satkarni.’ Season one of the prequel series comprises nine episodes and is based on Anand Neelakantan’s book, 'The Rise of Sivagami'.
This (prequel) series captures Queen Sivagami’s journey from a rebellious and vengeful girl to a wise and unrivalled queen. The series will be set 50 years before the events of the first film and seventy-five years before the second. According to trade sources, the web series would be made on a budget of Rs 10 crore and it would revolve on Sivagami’s character. The web series is set in a time period even before the events of the ‘Baahubali’ franchise unfolded. It is because of this, a younger actor was chosen to play Ramya Krishnan’s role, say sources. With the ‘Baahubali’ web series on cards, film buffs can expect the magic to unfold once again!
