Aditi Rao on a new high

B-town diva Aditi Rao Hydari is acting pricey these days. Despite her maiden Telugu film ‘Sammohanam’ not being a money-spinner, Aditi has reportedly pocketed Rs 60 lakh to play an astronaut and love interest of Varun Tej in ‘Antariksham’. The producer Rajiv Reddy didn’t mind paying a fancy price as she would offer a fresh casting with Varun Tej.

“Aditi is drawing more than her co-star Lavanya Tripathi in the film, even though the latter is more popular in Telugu and delivered a few hits,” says a source, close to the unit.  The actress, who was seen in Hindi movies ,claims that her presence in a Telugu film will expand its pan-India appeal and also would fetch the film a better price for the Hindi dubbing rights. "She has B-town hits like 'Padmavat' and has earned a brand value with a bunch of Hindi films like ‘Bhoomi’ and ‘Daas Dev’ and prefers to be considered as a B-town actress doing a Telugu film, than the other way round,” adds the source.

Frankly, even Aditi wouldn't have guessed that she would be surpassing other starlets like Raashi Khanna, Niddhi Agarwal and Sai Pallavi by crossing Rs 50 lakh magic mark with just two or three films. She also picked up endorsements in the South and is making waves. “B-town actresses are smart enough to cash in on their popularity" the source concludes.
