Anupam Kher Unveils The Accidental Prime Minister Trailer

Anupam Kher unveils the most thrilling and intense trailer of “The Accidental Prime Minister” – a biopic of sorts based on former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his term in the office.

Actor Anupam Kher shared the trailer on his social media profile. He captioned it, “Ladies and Gentlemen!! Presenting the trailer of our highly anticipated film #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister. The Accidental Prime Minister Official Trailer, Releasing January 11”

Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and written by Mayank Tewari. The film stars Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh, the economist and politician who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance.

The film is based on the book by Sanjaya Baru, which caused a stir back in 2014. 

The trailer begins with Anupam Kher swearing as the Prime Minister of India back in 2004 after Congress won with general elections.

The trailer then shows Manmohan Singh aka Anupam Kher as the victim of the inside politics of the Congress party which only wanted him to be a representative head.

Suzanne Bernert appears to play Sonia Gandhi, while Aahana Kumra portrays Priyanka Gandhi. 

On the other hand, Arjun Mathur is cast as Rahul Gandhi.

Anupam Kher convincingly essays the role with great poise. Akshaye Khanna as the writer and political advisor to the PM nails his performance.

The Accidental Prime Minister is a biographical political propaganda film, presented by Rudra Production (UK), Bohra Bros in association with Dr Jayantilal Gada (Pen India Limited).

The film releases on 11 Jan 2019.
