Kader Khan Passed Away, Bollywood Expresses Grief

Veteran Bollywood actor-director-writer-comedian and a Quran scholar, Kader Khan died after a prolonged illness at a hospital in Toronto in Canada, on Tuesday.

Kader Khan, 81, is survived by his wife Hajra, son Sarfaraz, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. According to media reports, he passed away around 4 a.m. (IST). The last rites will be held in a Toronto cemetery later in the day.

Expressing grief over the demise of the senior actor, Paresh Rawal tweeted, “RIP. Kadar Saab.”

Famous actor Kader Khan was hospitalized in Canada where he lives with his son and daughter-in-law, as he was suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a disease which causes loss of balance, dementia and difficulty in walking.

The actor recently underwent a knee surgery which was not successful and since then he was unable to walk properly. The actor also showed signs of pneumonia and he was put on the BiPAP ventilator because of his deteriorating health.

The actor has been a part of over 300 films in his career and had a huge fan following because of his impeccable comic timing. Having starred in hit movies like Judaai, Hero No 1, Raja Babu, Taqdeerwaala, Hum Hain Kamaal Ke, Coolie No 1, Lucky, Fun2shh, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Rajaji and many more, he was defined as a mass entertainer.
