Petta deprived of theatres, laments producer Ashok
The pre-release film, ‘Petta’ with Rajinikanth, Simran and Trisha in the leading roles was held in Hyderabad on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, producer Vallabhaneni Ashok, who was releasing the film in Telugu said that he could become a producer only by taking inspiration from superstar Rajinikanth. He said that he was facing a lot of difficulties in finding theatres to screen his film in the Telangana State and appealed to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in helping to resolve the matter. Some people were deliberately troubling him by denying him theatres and he wants to silence them by delivering a blockbuster with ‘Petta’, Ashok added.
Director of the film, Karthik Subbaraj said that ‘Petta’ was his second film after ‘Pizza.’ He said that the film was a family-oriented action entertainer and expressed the hope that it would turn out to be a blockbuster. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander congratulated Vallabhaneni Ashok for daring to release the film in Telugu and added that thousands of Rajinikanth’s fans would enjoy every bit of the film. He thanked the makers for giving him an opportunity to provide the background score. He also thanked the Telugu audience for patronising him.
Actor Bobby Simha said that it was a dream come true for him in sharing screen space with Rajinikanth, who has become a demigod and thanked director Karthik for it. Megha Aakash thanked the makers for giving her an opportunity to act in such a great film along with Rajinikanth. Director YVS Chaudhary was the chief guest on the occasion and actor Srikanth and others were present. ‘Petta’ is all set to release on January 10.
