My Mother Gave Me Full Marks for The Accidental Prime Minister Says Anupam Kher
Veteran Actor Anupam Kher says that his mother gave me full marks for his portrayal of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in The Accidental Prime Minister.
Anupam Kher along with Ashish Kumar Chauhan, Jayanti Lal Gada, and Ajit Sanghavi were spotted at the Bombay Stock Exchange for Muhurt of The Accidental Prime Minister Business.
Talking about the response for the film, Anupam Kher said, “A natural excitement, and so far, the shows we have done, the film premiered yesterday and we got a tremendous response, and the best response I got from my mother. She gave me 100 out of 100 marks; this is the biggest achievement for me. This is the first time in the history of Indian cinema, and it will be written in golden letters, that only my producers and actors had the courage to make a film based on a political background with keeping the real names of every individual”
The film released amidst of controversies and legal fight, as one sector believes that the film aims to disrespect the Congress Party and its leaders.
Talking about the film and uproar it caused, Anupam said, “From the trailer and my get-up’s point of view, the curiosity did increase but the end of it; it’s the film that speaks. I think people will decide about the film today itself, but we made the film with utmost sincerity despite people calling it politician agenda or controversy. And like my co-star Aksahye Khanna said, it is not a controversy, it is a debate, and the film is a debate. And I have not worked this hard on any film in my 37 years long career”
Anupam Kher also talked about the recent ban of Indian content in Pakistan. He said, “I think the people should release everywhere in the world but every country has their own constitution and their own understanding, and If they feel it shouldn’t release there, maybe it shouldn’t. My producers are trying that the film releases everywhere, it is based on a historical document”
