Megastar Mammootty is re-entering into Telugu film industry after a long gap of more than two decades. His latest film Yatra, which is based on the life of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajashekhar Reddy, is slated to release worldwide on February 8.

In his career spanning over forty years, Mammootty never acted in a supporting role. On the flip side, his contemporaries like Mohanlal and Jagapathi Babu are shining even in the supporting roles. Meanwhile, Mammootty makes sure his character is positive and has enough prominence in the script. Then only he takes the film on to the sets.

The actor explained that director Mahi V Raghav came to him with the help of Shyam Dutt. He told Mammootty that he is making a movie on YSR's very famous Padayatra and the actor gave an immediate nod to it. During the shoot, Mammootty used to write dialogues in Malayalam and learn pronunciation from the assistant directors to spell them right.
