No takers for Vidya Balan?

The dream of B-town and national award-winning actress Vidya Balan to do more Telugu movies could go in vain, since she hasn’t got an offer till date. Actually, Vidya Balan made her debut on Telugu screen with the NTR biopic and won appreciation for her realistic performance as Basavaramatarakam opposite Balakrishna. “Vidya Balan wanted to do more performance-oriented roles, but Telugu filmmakers are reluctant to sign her. Despite knowing that she can do justice to all kinds of roles, but there are no takers for now,” says a source, close to the unit.
 
Probably, her age could go against her but even middle-aged heroes like Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh and Nagarjuna are not showing much interest. “Where is the space for performers in T-town. Big stars want to dance with younger divas and confine heroines to four songs and four scenes, then where would Vidya Balan would fit in,” the source points out. Another factor that is going against the ‘Dirty Picture’ actress is that she lays down lot of conditions. 

“Vidya Balan signed the NTR biopic only after producer and director assured her that they would not chop of a single scene  citing length issues during editing,” the source points out. But other filmmakers may not be liberal enough to listen to her demands because Telugu movies are hero-centric and others have to chip in with their roles without much fuss.
