Hall Of Fame Award For Indian Actors Says Sushant Singh

Update: 2019-02-09 19:46 IST

“We will create a hall of fame award for actors,” says Sushant Singh at the press meet for forthcoming ActFest.

Honorary Secretary of CINTAA and Actor, Sushant Singh hosted a press junket for First ever Indian Actors Only Festival, ActFest, which is getting organized CINTAA and 48 Hour Film Project.

Sushant Singh also added that the initiative is totally dedicated to actors and it will also honor the senior veteran actors, who aren’t necessarily deemed stars or superstars.

He said, “Just like American Guild Awards, CINTAA would like to establish Guild Awards dedicated solely to our community. Actors from television, web, miniseries, films, theatres, totally dedicated to the actors. We’re hoping that within a year or so, we will be able to move in that direction”

“One more thing that we’re proud to present is a hall of fame award. See we do have numerous senior actors here whose contribution is unparallel towards the industry, in cinema, television, and theatre, but they haven’t been deemed as so-called stars or superstars. These actors have done hundreds of film but never been honored or given any lifetime achievement reorganization anywhere, so hall of fame award is being established from this year. We will honor 15 senior veteran actors this year and we are so proud of it”

When asked about lack of Unity among contemporary in the fraternity, Sushant Singh said, “Yes, we do need Unity here because of various reasons; I mean all over the world it is also required. See this is a freelance field, anyone can take your job easily. You are not a permanent employee with anyone, so if you don’t agree with employers’ condition, there is someone else ready to take your job. So there is a love-hate relationship among us, we do appreciate each other’s performances but we are fearful as well, so yes there is lack of unity and were trying to unify the actors so that everyone gets equal rights”

ActFest will feature international delegates, industry stalwarts, and more than a thousand artists and aspiring actors.

The event will also have a panel discussion and speeches that will feature eminent Bollywood personalities such as Bobby Deol, Manoj Bajpayee, Rasika Duggal, Swara Bhaskar, Gajaraj Rao Raveena Tandon,  Kubbra  Sait, Shika Talsania, Makrand Deshpande, Dilip Joshi, Kamya Punjabi, Manoj Joshi, Renuka Shahne, Sachin Khedekar, Satish Kaushik, Sumeet Vyas, Neena Gupta, Jimmy Shergill and many other actors.
