Was concerned if my craft will match up to my costars says Bhumi Pednekar
Bhumi Pednekar says she was nervous and concerned about matching her craft with veteran co-actors in Sonchiraiya.
Bhumi interacted with media at a press conference for Sonchiraiya's cast and crew in Mumbai on Friday.
Apart from Bhumi the film stars actors like Ranvir Shorey, Ashutosh Rana, and Manoj Bajpayee. When asked if she was nervous about working with such a cast she said, "I think it was a mix of both, I definitely felt it emotionally and where my craft was concerned to match up to this amazing cast was a lot of pressure. I have been such a big fan of all of their works individually and I knew this film is different and the prep for regular films will not be enough so I was very nervous too.
Also present at the Press conference were co-stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Ranveer Shorey, Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana, Director Abhishek Chaubey and producer Ronnie Screwvala.
Talking about the prep that she put into her fierce character, she said, "There was a lot of hard work involved in this film and rightfully so. This was such a script where you had to do a lot of prep especially because I am very new as an actor. My journey has been very short as compared to my amazing costars.
But because we had prepped hard the shooting, weather and other issues never felt too much. And I think the environment that we shot in just added to our characters. The conditions were harsh but the love, brotherhood and the sisterhood that we had during the shoot of this film was outstanding."
'Sonchiraiya' starring Sushant Singh and Bhumi Pednekar revolves around Chambal dacoits and is set in the 1970s
The film directed by Abhishek Chaubey and shot in Chabal ravines, Sonchiraiya will release on 1st March 2019.
