SV Krishna Reddy eyes a comeback
After a gap of five years, veteran filmmaker S V Krishna Reddy, who is known for comedy-centric movies like ‘Yamaleela’ and ‘Vinodam’ is planning to make a comeback this year. “Already, he has readied a laugh-riot but also listening to scripts from new writers, to come up with a swashbuckling movie,” says an industry source.
The Nandi award winning director also made heart-wrenching movies like ‘Subhalagnam’ and ‘Aahwanam’ but his forte has always been comedy. “Pellam Oorilethe’ was one of the biggest fun-centric hits in T-town. Krishna Reddy also made a mark for himself with experimental movies like ‘Rajendrudu Gajendrudu’ and ‘Ghatothgajudu’ and made waves with ‘Yamaleela’ which set a new benchmark in comedy,” adds the source.
He made a love story ‘Egire Pavurama’ to establish his versatality. “Now, he wants to return since the season is good for light-hearted entertainers,” the source points out. Although his English movie ‘Divorce Invitation’ failed to impress, the director knows the pulse of Telugu audinece, more than anybody else, adds the source. “Most of his peers have quit the craft, but the spirited director is no mood to give up,” the source concludes.
