Sanu Kehndi from Kesari Goes Viral, feat Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar has dropped the first song Sanu Kehndi from his forthcoming historical war drama Kesari, and within hours of its release the song has gone viral, garnering a massive 4 million plus hits.
Actor Akshay Kumar dropped the first single on his timeline. The Punjabi folk song, Sanu Kehndi, has been composed and programmed by Tanishk Bagchi, written by Kumaar and crooned by Romy along with Brijesh Sandilya. The track showcases the camaraderie between the 21 men who fought the Battle of Saragarhi.
The song is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, who added a touch of realism to the song picturised on army men and the dance moves are catching on real fast.
Kesari, directed by Anurag Singh, is based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi of 1897. The gripping story features Akshay as Ishar Singh and Parineeti Chopra in the lead.
On September 12, 1897 battle, in the North-West Frontier Province, 21 Sikhs of the 36th Sikh Regiment (now the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment) of British India, defended an army post against more than 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen. The British government had conferred the highest battle honour of ‘Indian Order of Merit Grade II’ to the martyred soldiers.
The film releases on 21st March.
