I hope somehow peace prevails between India and Pakistan says Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan hopes peace prevails because an eye for an eye will turn the world blind.

Balan interacted with media at the sidelines of Itch summit in Mumbai on Thursday. Others present at the summit as speakers were, Sucharita Tyagi, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Raveena Tandon and more.

Indian air force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by Pakistani forces on Wednesday and the Indian government had demanded his immediate release.

Talking about Pakistan agreeing to send him back home safely Vidya said, "Thank god, I am very happy that Captian Abhinantan is going to come back home safe and sound. The whole country was anxious and we were waiting, I can only imagine what his family must be going through. I just hope and pray that somehow peace prevails, really. Because an eye for an eye will turn the world blind."

Indian social media has been full of tweets calling him a hero and praying for his safe return.    

The actress who is known to follow her own heart when it comes to her work and life says everyone should do the same. "You should always do what your heart wants to because most of the time we listen to our parents' partners but you won't be successful unless you do what your passion and desire are. If it comes from your heart you will find new heights in life."

When asked about the Itch summit and what can we expect from her interaction session, Vidya said, "The most interesting thing is that this is called the Itch Summit, it's about the itch everyone feels about doing something in their lives. This Summit is talking about how different people nurtured their itch worked on it and became successful in life. So I think I have done something right which is why they have called me to speak over here. The idea is great."

Vidya was last seen in 'Tumhari Sulu' which lead IIFA with 7 nominations in 2018.
