3 burglars nabbed; booty worth Rs 12.8 lakh recovered

 ​Hyderabad: The police arrested three accused who were allegedly involved in as many as 16 housebreaking cases under the Alwal police station limits on Monday. The police recovered property worth Rs 12.8 lakh.

The accused includes Kethavath Prashanth (25), a resident of Khanajiguda, Vadthyavath Chinna (26), a resident of Bhudevinagar, Vadthya Ganesh (19), a native of Nagar Kurnool district.

According to police, the accused used to move in auto rikshaws to do recce operations. They used to steal valuables break opening the houses and sped away with in auto rikshaws. They committed all 16 robberies with the same modus operandi, police said.  

“The accused were on the move to dispose of the stolen property when they were apprehended at Khanajiguda. On being interrogated the accused confessed their offenses,” said V Srikanth Goud, Inspector, Alwal. The police recovered gold ornaments weighing 360 grams and silver ornaments of 60 grams.
