PD Act invoked against history-sheeter

​Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, Anjani Kumar, invoked Preventive Detention Act against a history-sheeter here on Monday.

Khaja Fareeduddin, 22, a resident of Nampally, was accused of dacoity, robberies, chain-snatchings and bodily offences in the limits of different police stations of Hyderabad city, police said.  “He had created panic among public with his criminal activities. 

He not only commits property offences, but also bodily offences. In February last, he tried to kill one person by stabbing with a deadly weapon, who lend him money and demanded to return,” the press note read.

He reportedly threatened the complainants with dire consequences who reported against him to the police. The Commissioner of Police warned the rowdy-sheeters with stern action if they violate the law and order.
