HCU girl student leaps to death from 15th floor
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a girl student of University of Hyderabad (UoH) committed suicide by jumping from a building under mysterious circumstances on Thursday.
The victim, S Harshitha (21), committed suicide by jumping from the 15th floor of the Himasai Apartments located at Nallagandla in Sherilingampally.
Harshitha was a resident of West Marredpally, Secunderabad, and was pursuing Systems Biology second year in UoH. The Chandanagar Police reached the spot and conducted inquiry into the incident. The police are yet to trace out the reasons for the suicide as to why she came to Himasai Apartments and resorted to the extreme step. The police came to know that nobody was residing in the flat where from she jumped on to the ground, after examining the details mentioned in the visitors’ book.
It is learnt that repair works were going on in the flat. The police are of the suspicion that she might gone to that flat only to commit suicide or whether she had any friends or relatives there is yet be known. The police shifted Harshitha’s body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.
Mother of Harshitha came to hospital after receiving information from the police. The police launched an investigation into the incidents and are examining CCTV footages for the clue.
