2-year-old sacrificed for hidden treasure, 2 held
Two people were arrested on Thursday for sacrificing a two-year-old boy for hidden treasure in Nagpur.
According to the police, the accused lured the boy called Yug with chocolates while he was playing with his elder brother Hurshal near his home. A complaint was registered with Bramhpuri police by Yug's father Ashok on August 22 after his elder son returned home alone.
Based on the complaint, the police teams launched a hunt to trace the boy and found his body stuck inside a haystack of the boys' neighbours on Wednesday. The police arrested the accused identified as Sunil Bankar and Pramod Bankar and learnt that they have strangled the boy to death to get the hidden treasure.
"The accused found the boy apt for the occult practice as he was born with three swirls in his hair," said a police officer.
A case of Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act and Section 302 (murder) of the IPC were registered against them.
