Easy to win, difficult to sustain!

Update: 2018-10-07 05:30 IST

There appears to be a well worked out strategy behind KCRs choicest invectives against AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu which was witnessed during the last few meetings he had addressed. He seems to have decided to rake up sentiment and see that the TRS romps back home comfortably and in the process see that the Congress does not regain its lost paradise.

Political analysts feel that while it could rekindle the T sentiment to some extent and help KCR, it will also help Naidu in Andhra as he will exploit this attack on him to the maximum by telling people that it is also part of the BJP game plan of political vendetta.

To his advantage, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Pawan Kalyan are concentrating only on attacking Naidu and there is not even a remote reference to the injustice meted by the Centre to the State. This Naidu is trying to exploit to his advantage.

It is a fact that when it comes to oratory skills there is no match to KCR who knows how to use his words and fire all his guns at his political opponents and convince the people. We had witnessed this talent of KCR during the agitation for separate State.

Certainly, the Congress too has this time worked out its strategies to match the fireworks and is bringing Telangana Jana Samithi chief Prof Kodandaram to the forefront.  How far they will be successful remains to be watched in the days to come.

When KCR decided to announce a mega list of 105 candidates in one go despite reports that at the ground level that there were some candidates who were facing anti-incumbency factor, he certainly had a reason. By retaining almost the entire team, he has earned the loyalty of all his followers.

Yes, there are some internal bickering, but then they do not appear so strong that it could upset the apple cart of KCR.  Moreover, he seems to have felt that if he could successfully rake up the T factor again, it would decimate the TDP forever.

The main reason for such a thought apparently is because he might have felt that the people from Andhra who had settled down here cannot become integral part of the TRS unless the TDP is wiped out from the political scenario. But then, it also sends a wrong signal to this group of voters and creates sort of uncertainty in their minds. In terms of percentage of votes, they may not be very high but then once the trust is breached, it is difficult to win them back.

In the last four years, those who had settled down here had forgotten the past and have been living happily. They, in fact, went all out to support the TRS in GHMC elections. Politicians should always remember that It is easy to win the confidence of the people, but it is difficult to sustain it. Voters cannot be treated like whipping boys.

If you see the political history, the rulers over all these decades since Independence used certain sections like minorities and BCs as vote banks. But now as the awareness among them is growing they are demanding their due share in power. They don’t want sops anymore.
