BRAOU two-day global meet on from tomorrow
Hyderabad: Dr B R Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Department of History, Faculty of Social Sciences, in collaboration with Deccan History Society is organising a two- day international conference on “Socio-Political, Economic and Cultural Relations of Deccan with Iran from 14th to 18th Century” on February 16-17 at Mini Auditorium, C S T D Building, University Campus, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
Deccan played a major role in Indian history and was a gateway to the immigrants from Iran and other West Asian countries. In these conference four major topics, Political and Diplomatic Relations, Economic-Relations, Cultural Relations between Deccan and Iran will be discussed. Delegates from United States of America (USA) and many parts of India are going to attend in this Conference, nearly 60 research papers were received till now.
Inaugural programme will be held at 10.30 am on February 16. Prof K Seetharama Rao, will preside over the function. B Venkatesham, IAS., Secretary Tourism, Culture and Youth Affairs, Government of Telangana will be the chief guest. Prof V Kishan Rao, Member of Indian Council for Historical Research, New Delhi and Dr Mir Asghar Husain, Retd. Director & Advisor International Euro-Arab Dialogue, UNESCO, Prof. A Sudhakar, Director (Academic) Dr BRAOU, Prof C Venkataiah, Registrar, Dr. BRAOU are attending as guests of honour.
Prof S Bashiruddin prestigious Memorial lecture, is also being organised on February 16 at 12.30 pm. Prof. Azizuddin Hussain, Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi delivering a Lecture on “Impact of Sufism on Deccan”.
In the valedictory function A K Khan, IPS, Advisor, Minority Welfare, Government of Telangana will be the chief guest and Dr Lavanya Vemsani, Shawnee State University (USA) and Dr Danish Moin, Head, Dept. of History, MANUU, Prof C Venkataiah will be the Guests of Honours.
Prof A Sudhakar, Director, Academic, Dr BRAOU will preside over valedictory function. Prof. Syed Ayub Ali, Director of the Conference and Prof E Sudha Rani, Co-Director of the Conference. Dr Srinivas Vaddanam and Dr G Dayakar other Universities historians and research scholars will participate.
