How to be with ‘present’ as HR message
Whether the corporate people know the true meaning of the statement ‘be in the present’ which is often used by several spiritual masters? More often the people are told to be ‘in the present’ and are advised not to be in the past or future. Many people do treat the above as a ‘gospel’ and would try to follow the same verbatim and literatim. It is said, preached and believed that ‘be in the present’ means freedom from the burden of the past and worries about the future.
The fear of the past events and worries about the unknown future always dominate the life of most of the corporate employees. As a result of the above, although they live in the ‘present’ their life is filled with worries, fear and uncertainty. There is a ‘philosophical paradox’ that exists in the life of most corporate employees. That is why most corporate employees in general and especially the corporate that are governed by single man or as family show in particular, display the behaviour of most animals in the jungle. Animals are known to live in the present than be in the past or pine about their future like human being.
Those who play circus or from pilot in a aircraft to a cycle rider, also lives in the present when they do the job of flying the aircraft or riding the cycle and only when they are ‘in the present’ while doing the job, can safely do the job. All animals live in the present and are never known to save anything for their future and nor do they carry the great burden of the past and lead a life in sorrow or dream.
Most corporate employees also live in the present, try to impress the boss, colleagues and always are innovating different ways and methods to be the best ‘show masters’ in the corporate they work.
What is the real meaning and sense of ‘be in the present’? Be in the present only will makes the humanity happy, free from worries and enjoy the power of ‘now’ fully, completely and objectively.
If one believes that one can be happy by ‘being in the present, then the corporate employees should be the most happiest in the society as they are always in the present. But they are not happy either, why? Those who play circus or the drivers, for example are also not so happy. Why these people, despite being in the present, are not so happy, as they are expected to be in a state of ‘ecstasy’, always jumping with joy and happiness.
The message has a deeper meaning. One should try to be ‘in the present’ not due to need or compulsion but it should happen due to awareness and consciousness.
One should be conscious and should attempt consciously to be in the present. When need prevails and need determines one to be in the present, they are not ‘purely’ in the ‘present’ and only due to the fear of future events and due to the heard or told events of the past keeps these people to be in the ‘present’.
When one try to live in the present due to and with awareness, neither the anecdotes of past nor the postulated events of the future can affect the state of their being. They are just with the ‘moment’, with ‘now’ and moving hither and thither just with the waves of time. They could move so lightly because they are not heavy as they carry no burden of the past or worries about the future.
Although animals dominantly live in the present, but carry the fear, and they are in the present not due to awareness or consciousness but due to compulsion. The life of most corporate employees is also no way different from the animals in the jungle.
Develop awareness, be conscious of the ‘self’ and ‘around’ and let the action be guided by the forces in the ‘self’ and not due to the situation. When one attain such state becomes totally free to enjoy the ‘fullness of now’ and free from the past and future.
To be in the ‘present’ means be in the present due to and with awareness and not due to compulsion or necessity. This message is inevitable for the corporate people to be happy.
