Army Public School celebrates Sports Day
Hyderabad: Army Public School (APS) Bolarum organised its 17th Annual Sports Day Meet- WHOOPLA on Saturday. The Chief Guest Colonel GS Tomar Deputy Commandant, 1EME Centre took the salute of the impressive march past of the students after unfurling the school flag. The Principal Smitha Govind welcomed all the esteemed guests and parents formally and presented the annual report of the school. This was followed by the declaration of the Meet open by the Chief Guest, marking the commencement of the ceremony, followed by the lighting of the flame by the Sports Captain.
The Chief Guest gave away the prizes to all the Class X and XII toppers and addressed the students by congratulating them for their excellent performance in the board result. In his address to the students, he praised the endeavors of the school in maintaining high standards and creating a benchmark by giving excellent results not only in academics but also in sports and co-curricular activities.
The day was a fun filled fest of joy, talent and energy as around 1500 students participated in various activities. The splendid track and field events included skill and fun races. The students also performed various display showcasing traditional games played in different parts of the world. They performed aerobics, yoga, gymnastics and Paralympics. The Nilgiri House bagged the overall trophy. The programme ended with the victory march by the students, followed by vote of thanks proposed by Aruna Dommati, Senior Wing Coordinator.
