UoH among top institutions
Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) is now among the top Institutions ranked by QS in Asia Rankings 2019. Of the 500 higher education institutions ranked in Asia, UoH is ranked at 106. In the year 2016/17 it was ranked 400+ and the present ranking is a considerable improvement in its performance. These rankings were released by QS on 24 October.
The University recently emerged as the top-ranked university in the India-specific rankings released by QS. While it has been ranked seventh among all Indian institutions, all the others ranked above it are IISc and IITs.
The parameters on which the rankings were done include Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty Student Ratio, Staff with PhD, Citations per Paper, Papers per Faculty, International Research Network, International Faculty, International Students, Inbound Exchange Students and Outbound Exchange Students.
At 33 regionally, the Staff with PhD indicator is the strongest one for the University of Hyderabad. While responding to these rankings Prof. Appa Rao Podile, Vice-Chancellor, UoH says, “I am happy that the University of Hyderabad is doing well in the QS rankings released for the World, Top 100 under 50, India Rankings, BRICS and now Asian Rankings 2019. I congratulate all faculty, staff, students and alumni for this achievement”.
“We need to focus on improving on all parameters to be among the best institutions globally”, he added. QS World University Rankings is a publication of university rankings, published annually by British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
