Hyderabad: The Association of Private Security Agencies (APSA), which represents 1,500 private security agencies and 4 lakh private security personnel in AP and Telangana, on Wednesday private security sector had been facing numerous challenges.

“Unlike in the West, security is given least priority by our society. They often take the brickbats for happenings for which they are ill-equipped and ill-trained. This in a way is resulting in low remuneration, often not even adhering to the minimum wages,” said Bhaskar Reddy, president, APSA.
To address these challenges, APSA AP & TS Chapter is organising one-day seminar on 'Transforming the Blue collar Ecosystem in Private Security Sector' on October 26 in the city.

This seminar is expected to bring all the stakeholders including the principal employers, service providers and all the official bodies, on a single platform to brainstorm and thrash out an action plan, which can help transform the security industry and enable the association to address the challenges in a futuristic and holistic manner. More than 250 CEOs, MDs and leaders from top employers / service providers will take part in the seminar.
