Hanamkonda: Warangal District Congress Committee president Naini Rajender Reddy demanded that the State government must release Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) founder president Manda Krishna Madiga immediately.

Reddy met the Madiga Student Federation (MSF) activists, who sat on a 24-hour Satyagraha Deeksha at Ekasila Park here on Sunday, and expressed his solidarity with their protest. Demanding the release of Manda Krishna, he termed the arrest as suppression of democratic rights.

“The arrest of Manda Krishna only reflects how people’s voice was being suppressed,” he said, accusing the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, of being intolerant towards dalits. The arrest also indicates the vindictive nature of the TRS government that is reminding the ‘dorala palana’ (rule of landlords), he said. It’s time for the political fora to stage democratic protests to exert pressure on the government so that to thwart the suppression of dalits, Reddy said. B Tirupati, M Daniel, B BIkshapathi, Eerla Kumar, Sathish and Dinesh were among others present.
