‘Law & order key for growth’

Ramagundam (Peddapalli): Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy said that Telangana police has been playing an exemplary role in maintaining law and order.

The Minister, who participated in the ground-breaking ceremony of the Rs 25-crore Commissionerate building here on Sunday, said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao from day one of the Telangana State formation was keen to strengthen the police department by providing better infrastructure and facilities.

“Much to the expectations of the government, the police department has been playing a pivotal role in building Telangana into a successful State,” the Home Minister said.

Speaking on the occasion, the DGP M Mahender Reddy emphasised that law and order play a critical role in the industrial development of a region. “Conducive atmosphere for industrial development attracts investments thereby the economy of the people,” DGP said. So far in last three and a half years the police have come up flying colours in ensuring peace in the State, he added.

In addition to several welfare schemes, the State government’s flagship programmes such as Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha etc. are also contributing to the State’s growth, he said. As part of developmental initiatives, several Commissionerates have also come up thus bringing the police close to the people, he said.

RTC chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana, Police Housing Corporation chairman K Damodar, IG Y Nagi Reddy, Peddapalli district collector Sri Devasena, Police Housing Corporation Managing Director B Malla Reddy, Karimnagar Range DIG Pramod Kumar, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal, legislators Putta Madhu, Dasari Manohar Reddy and Mayor Laxminarayana were among others present.
