Bridge across railway line remains on paper
It may be recalled that Transport Minister Mahender Reddy who constituted as MLA from the constituency in the last elections doled out promises to build a fly-over for the benefit of the commuters
Tandur: People of Old Tandur have been facing lot of difficulties for want of a road-bridge across the railway line to avoid inconvenience to the travelling public.
It may be recalled that Transport Minister Mahender Reddy who constituted as MLA from the constituency in the last elections doled out promises to build a fly-over for the benefit of the commuters.
He subsequently became the minister, but the project remained virtually a non-starter for a long time till the foundation-stone was laid for the project.
On February 4, 2018, the Minister along with R and B Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao laid the foundation stone for the Rs 51-crore road-bridge across the railway line.
The road-bridge did not progress beyond the foundation-stone laying phase during the past one year or so.
Residents of the old Tandur have been expressing despair over the tardy progress in spite of funds released for the project.
They do not know whom to approach to get their problem resolved. Moreover, they allege that to whomsoever they had approached they are not taking a serious view of the problem. It was high-time the ministers as well as the bureaucrats started off the road-bridge works to solve the problems.
