Staging opportunistic human nature
Two plays, ‘Aa Ante’ and ‘Satyam’ were staged recently in the city as a part of ‘Manch Mahotsavam’
The month-long ‘Manch Mahotsavam’ kick-started recently at Amphitheatre, Apollo Hospitals Jubilee Hills. Plays including ‘Aa Ante’ and ‘Satyam’ were staged as part of the inauguration.
The play ‘Aa Ante’ directed by Rakesh Reddy Yasa is about a woman’s life and a girl child. This play explores saving the baby girl and respecting towards woman. The play received an immense response from the audience. Senior Telugu actor LB Sriram attended the evening and praised the artists.
Director of the play Rakesh Reddy Yasa said, “We got a very good response from people from all walks of life. We are happy for LB Sriram sir coming to the event. He appreciated our work and encouraged us to do more,”
The second play ‘Satyam’ written by Gudipati Venkata Chalam and directed by Srikanth Banala was staged later. Satyam is a comedy satire on the opportunistic human nature. This play is written in early 1900s' timeline, revolving around 8 refugees from Bobbili Dynasty's Kingdom at the time of War.
With humor and sarcastic punches throughout, the play tries to through light on the differences between people, the dignity of labor and how opportunism makes them act towards clearing those differences created for their own purity.
Srikanth Banala said, “The play is about how humans can use opportunity from others, and how they give respect to them when they need help. It’s written in 1990’s and still, we do see the same form of human’s life even today. We are happy for LB Sriram sir for attending the event and especially the way he spoke in 1990’s language was remarkable,”
As part of Manch Mahotsavam,
plays including Dippam: Revolves around the life a normal middle-class man who struggles to manage his life from the difficulties he faces and Bhavitha: This is a story of the future of a child born to a mother who dreams for a better life for her and her newborn baby, will be staged on March 10 from 6:30 pm at the same venue.
