Exploring people’s lives
Hyderabad-based artist Seshagiri Rao is a commercial and concept artist. He was born in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh brought up in a rural atmosphere. He was constantly interested in pencil sketches since his childhood. He says, “I started my career as an artist in a publicity material supplying company in Guntur with the fast innovation of the digital media.
Later, I started learning graphic designs and multimedia. I have over 25 years of experience in creating art,”Seshagiri’s paintings are based on the concept of moods and gestures of people.
He had featured traditional art method in his paintings, many of his paintings are done with oil paint, oil on canvas and some of them are by acrylic on canvas. Few of his paintings feature immense love between brother and sister, where a sister carries his brother and tries to give him shelter.
He drew a happy picture of Banjaran, an elderly man who keeps on playing sitar on the roadside; in most of his paintings he showcased moods of a particular person and their expressions and feelings. He also compared his paintings between digital art method and traditional art method.
“I am a firm believer that the key to be a successful digital artist stems from an artists’ strong foundation in their traditional art studies. My artwork’s mood and gesture determine whether to use a digital art method, a traditional art method or both with the use of a versatile supply of art medium tools and art vocabulary. My main objective is to bring to life creative ideas through design and visual means,” he concludes.
